Our Partners

National Sponsors

Girls on the Run International is proud to partner with Athleta, Secret, Garmin and LEGO Friends as we work to deliver our life-changing program to more than 120,000 girls each year. These companies are vital to advancing our mission and provide financial, in-kind and volunteer support while leveraging their brand's assets to raise awareness about the program across North America.

Athleta

Athleta is the exclusive national athletic apparel sponsor of Girls on the Run. Our organizations’ values are well aligned as we are each committed to inspiring girls and women everywhere to achieve their limitless potential. These shared ideals initially brought many members of the Athleta team to Girls on the Run of Sonoma County, California as volunteer coaches, running buddies and board members. It is through their heartfelt commitment to the program that the company sought to partner with Girls on the Run at the national level. Athleta was founded in 1998 with the mission of providing women athletes with apparel for different sports and fitness activities. Since then, they have become one of the premier brands in the rapidly growing women's sports and active apparel markets. Athleta offers high quality, stylish and functional apparel, footwear and accessories for women across a wide variety of sports and fitness activities, including a high component of crossover apparel and casual wear. Athleta sells its products through catalogs, retail locations and its website,www.athleta.com. Athleta is headquartered in Petaluma, CA, and has nearly 300 employees, many of which have been involved with Girls on the Run for years.

Secret

Secret has been a national sponsor of Girls on the Run since 2008. They are also actively involved with Girls on the Run of Cincinnati, providing coaches, volunteer and financial support each year. Our partnership with Secret deodorant enables Girls on the Run International to reach more girls, improve our program offerings and encourage girls everywhere to embrace their authentic selves. Each year, Secret invites girls to write a brief essay about “How Girls on the Run Makes Me Fearless!” Ten winners are selected annually from the repeatedly outstanding pool of submissions, and the winning essays are available for viewing on our web site. Lena, a recent 5th grade Secret essay winner, wrote: "I am much more brave now. I don't think I could have done it without Girls on the Run. I am proud to say I AM fearless!" Secret is a brand of Procter & Gamble.

Garmin

Girls on the Run SoleMates is proud to partner with Garmin International. Garmin offers innovative products which span a number of interests, including fitness, automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor recreation and wireless applications. Based in Olathe, Kansas, Garmin has been a supporter of Girls on the Run of Greater Kansas for many years, and became a proud National Sponsor of Girls on the Run SoleMates in 2010. The partnership provides financial and in-kind support, national marketing and awareness and the opportunity to partner with an organization committed to community investment. Garmin employees have also donated considerable time, treasure and talent locally as volunteer coaches, running buddies and SoleMates participants. Rebecca Sommers, Senior Copyright Editor at Garmin, recently wrote about her SoleMates experience: "I can't think of a better way to use my passion to help others than by fundraising for Girls on the Run through SoleMates. I've had the opportunity to experience Girls on the Run from several different roles: coach, volunteer, mother of a participant, board member and fundraiser. All of those roles bring their own set of rewards, but none quite equal the payoff of seeing the Girls on the Run principles lived out by girls in the program."

Lego friends

With a shared goal of unleashing confidence through accomplishment, LEGO Friends is a proud National Sponsor of Girls on the Run. LEGO® Friends is a collection of building toys that blend the iconic LEGO construction experience with stories, settings and themes designed to meet children’s desire for creativity and a highly-detailed, character-based world. For more than 80 years The LEGO Group has focused only on building play and the positive life-long benefits it has for children. Children who engage in building develop important life-long skills such as persistence, confidence, problem solving and social skills and experience a sense of pride and accomplishment in completing a model. The partnership is designed to inspire girls everywhere to achieve their limitless potential by using a LEGO-based activity that will spark meaningful conversations. LEGO Friends will provide girls nationwide with a building activity based on LEGO Serious Play® methodology and insights that shows that hands-on, minds-on play produces a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the world and its possibilities. The activity will guide teams through a simple process where coaches will pose a question, the girls will build in response, everyone will share a story about what they built and then reflect together on similarities and differences through a question and answer period. LEGO Friends is excited to allow girls an opportunity to show not just what they made, but also what they’re made of.
